European Leaders Condemn US Move as ‘Intimidation’
European leaders including Emmanuel Macron charged the US administration of “coercion and intimidation”, after the visa restrictions targeted individuals that were central to efforts to introduce laws governing US-based technology firms.
“For far too long, European activists have spearheaded organised efforts to pressure US companies to suppress US perspectives they disagree with,” wrote the US secretary of state online. “The current administration will not stand for these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.”
